The final step for anyone wanting to become a professional music therapist is taking AND passing a national board exam to earn the credentials MT-BC (Music Therapist-Board Certified). Additionally, music therapists must re-certify every 5 years. These processes are facilitated by the Certification Board for Music Therapists. We are grateful to this organization for overseeing the task of ensuring that music therapists are providing high quality and safe services. Thank you, CBMT!
We’re proud to say that all BMT music therapists are licensed through the Health Licensing Office of Oregon Health Authority. This license must be renewed annually and requirements met with each renewal.
