Small Group Music Therapy
We're proud to offer Portland's only 'Pay As You Go' music therapy services for residents of senior care communities!
Why Small Group Music Therapy?
We began this program because we wanted to create an option that allows music therapy to be more accessible to seniors at a lower cost. The average cost of weekly individual or 1:1 sessions is around $400/month. We’re pleased to offer a program where your loved one can receive music therapy services at a quarter of the standard cost, and it includes the valuable social aspect of residents interacting with each other in an intimate small group setting.
Decades of research have revealed that seniors can obtain significant, lasting health benefits from consistent music therapy, especially individuals with forms of dementia such as Alzheimer’s. Studies have shown that music therapy can help improve seniors’ quality of life, specifically in the areas of cognition, emotional well-being, social engagement, and physical functioning.
Our small music therapy groups consist of 5 - 8 seniors, allowing each resident to benefit from social interaction while maintaining an intimate setting. A variety of music-based activities, designed to improve quality of life, are facilitated by our licensed and board-certified music therapists. Weekly sessions are only $100/month.
